From Facebook to full control.

For more than 30 years, Music Doctors has been the leader in musical instruments and pro audio in the Tri-Cities, Tennessee region. They had previously explored the idea of a website, but never fully committed and relied on Facebook as their main online presence. However, when Covid hit, the value of a website became clear. Unable to visit brick and mortar locations, consumers relied more and more on online resources. A website gave Music Doctors full control over the platform, the content, and the ability to add e-commerce functionality in the future.

Mapping Out the Destination

Websites, from the simplest to the most complex, can be difficult to build without a plan. We use sitemaps and wireframes in all our website projects to focus on content and structure before jumping into design and development. This stage helps establish an informational hierarchy and visualize the content on the pages—the focus is entirely on the flow of information and the user experience. We explored several wireframe layouts for Music Doctors, adding menus and removing features before moving forward with site development.

Establishing Credibility

The Music Doctor’s team has more than 100 years of combined experience installing sound systems and sound system replacement components for churches, schools, corporate organizations, and other community locations. A major component of their website was sharing these various projects and corresponding client testimonials through a series of case studies. They also wanted the ability to add new case studies themselves as needed. We created a simple form on the back end of their site allowing them to easily add new case studies and update existing ones.
