The Lamb Center is a daytime drop-in center for people experiencing homelessness. Located in Fairfax, VA, they provide a variety of services to their guests, from breakfast to AA meetings, Bible study, employment training, and more.
As a Christian organization and faith community, The Lamb Center serves all people experiencing poverty or homelessness, regardless of religion, race, or any other identity. Their vision is a community where every member is known, cherished, and has a place to call home.
30 years ago, The Lamb Center began as a simple ministry with a hot plate, a pot of coffee, and a vision. When they reached out to us, they were beginning a fundraising campaign to build a 54-unit apartment building, named Beacon Landing, that will provide permanent housing to individuals experiencing homelessness in Fairfax, VA.
The total cost of constructing this permanent housing solution was $7.9 million. Their team needed a comprehensive and flexible case for support they could use as they embark on a multi-year fundraising mission.
SHOWCASING PERSONAL IMPACT
Guided by The Lamb Center’s values of inclusion and compassion, we designed a case for support honoring the dignity and humanity of every guest. By showcasing custom photography and personal stories, we highlighted the lives changed through The Lamb Center’s service.
In addition to personal stories, The Lamb Center prioritized sharing in-depth information about the root causes of homelessness and the multifaceted approach that is necessary to solve the crisis. We balanced the heavy subject matter with warm colors, welcoming fonts, and uplifting photography, emphasizing the hope and change that are present in The Lamb Center’s work.
Putting it all together
The Lamb Center team knew they would be engaging with a variety of donors throughout the fundraising campaign. For this reason, they needed a flexible case for support “package” that could be utilized over a variety of donor touchpoints. We designed a cohesive set of campaign materials that included a case for support, a response card, a business card, letterhead, and the accompanying envelopes. With these materials, The Lamb Center was ready to share its goal of building a permanent housing solution with the community.
